WindowsXP photo printing wizard trims pictures.

I want to override the WindowsXP wizard and print select photos using the
software that comes with my OKI5100 colour printer.

This printer does a very good job and is very flexible with the allowable
prints per page, and does not trim the photos to fit.

Please help, Frank

I frankly do not know your OKI color laser printer. I have a Minolta color
laser printer and there is no software with mine to specifically print
photos, I can just set the preferences I want for printing, when printing
after opening a software to edit photos and using the print command from
there or simply using the XP Wizard.
If your printer comes with software to open photos and then print them, you
should simply start the software, open the photos you want to print and then
print with the options you have. However, I doubt very much that your
printer came with such software.

You stated "the printer....and does not trim the photos". Well, how do you
know that it does not trim the photos? If this is correct, then you must
know how to use the software that came with it and does not trim photos. No?
So, you must know how to print without trimming and overriding the XP
wizard. No?

I am just guessing. You are printing photos from a digital camera and the
top and bottom are trimmed out and this is annoying to you. If this is the
problem you are having, welcome to the club. It has nothing to do with the
XP wizard or your printer. If this is the problem, let me know and help will
be on the way, but also answer the two questions above so I have a better
idea of what your printer is capable of doing.

I think I will go with the MS Digital Image Pro system which need not trim
the pictures.
My problem is with the IKO5100n colour printer which I have trouble
configuring to "high-quality" mode when using this MS product.

You can try this, but it will not solve your "trimming" problem. DIP will
print exactly the same as the XP printing wizard.
But, maybe I don't understand what you mean by "trimming"
If you go with DIP, version 10 is coming out, replacing version 9. You may
want to check this.

I meant only that DIP9.0 does not trim the pictures as the XP wizard does.
My specific problem at the moment is the OKI5100n printer which will only
print in draft mode; no good fer photos.
But I'm trying still.
I will check out the V10
