WindowsXP Home / Outlook Express and Office 97 Spell

I have Windows XP and use Outlook Express. I have Office 97.
When trying to spell check an email I get "An error occured
while the spelling was being checked." When I try to send
an email I get "The spell check on this document was
halted. Do you want to send anyway.
I found in the Microsoft Knowledgebase Article # Q3088078.
Dated 2002 I think. Since XP, Outlook Express and Office 97
are ALL MS products have they resolved the problem? I have
3 computers with office 97 and don't want to upgrade to the
latest ang greatest Office just to get spell check to work
in Outlook Express. Is there a solve or work around?
