Do I really have to pay $200.00???

I was hoping with Windows XP being out for a while now that they would make
a version to download for free, but then I am new to this and do not know
what they will make free and what they wqill not...

I know I got media player, explorer, outlook express and quicktime
downl;oads fro free but I have not been able to find anythign ojn Windows XP
for free... Just 200 dollars...

Is that right?

Or is there another way?

No, of course it's not free. But, $200 is approximately twice the
normal cost of WinXP Home Upgrade. You really need to hone your
comparative shopping skills.

You can purchase Windows XP Home Edition (upgrade version)
for about $99 at your local Wal-Mart store. That is really all you
need.

A 2001 Ford Explorer has been out for 4 years now. Do you know where I can
get one for free?

I agree, the OP really asked a dumb question. It is a lot like, "I lost my
Windows CD, or Key Code, where can I get another one free?" To that
response I like to say "I lost a $100 bill, where can I get a replacement
free?"

I have been flying Delta 767 jets for six years.
I was hoping Delta would start giving us free
tickets now that their planes are broken in.

If you have ever considered going back to school,
for God's sake, don't take economics classes.
You'd be doomed. (Smile.)

If you do plan to upgrade to Windows XP,
buy the Windows XP Home Upgrade version
for $99.99. Be prepared for XP to consume
more RAM and hard disk resources, and
to push your older CPU to the limit. It will
all run but...

I'd love to give you my wife's 2001 Explorer to you for free. I'd save
thousands in annual repair costs :)
