I would appreciate it very much, if somebody can help me.
On Mar 16, 2004. I closed one of my windows sort of fast
and the next thing that is happening. When I go to open
almost any programs and when I reboot, I will get a
message saying, "Device Detector has encountered a
problem, please send this to Microsoft. The trouble is I
use my HP Scanjet 4400c a lot and when I now try to use
it I get this message and when I press the button to
scan, it starts to open, but then just stops/ I ran
Nortons, to check for viruses and it show none. I also
scanned the disk for bad files, but everything is OK. I
tried to reinstall the drivers, but that did nothing. It
seems like there is something missing. Also normally if I
would run into this problem, I would reboot and
everything would be OK What do you know about this problem

If it didn't start too long ago, try using System Restore to take you back
to a time prior to when this began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System
Tools\System Restore

It that doesn't resolve it, uninstall the scanner and all its related
software. Then follow the manufacturer's instructions for reinstalling and
see if that resolves the issue. ***NOTE: I do know you've reinstalled the
drivers, that is different from what I'm suggesting you do here.
