windows xp with microsoft access

Office/Access 97 will run just fine on Windows XP.

Occasionally, after installing it on Windows XP or Windows 2000, a user
may receive the following message: "Microsoft Access can't start because
there is no license for it on this machine." This problem is due, of all
things, to a font. The fix for that problem, should it occur, is found at:
