Windows xp unstable

I was getting messages that .dll's were not installed even thought i had
windows going for months fine. Ahh!!! so i repaired it with the install cd
and now i get a window that says Install "DocumentVeiwer.msi"??? i tell it
"cancel" it tells me it ud-does it. than it tells me to install it again. I
tell it ok than it askes me to insert the install disk. it doesnt specify the
name of this "install disk". it has a box were i can browes for a file than
tell it to install it from there. Having no idea what disk this is i just
leave this as what is in the little box for default, just a "1"??? I tell it
ok and it fgives me an error that "1" is no the correct disk. After repeating
this prosses with the windows cd in and try to set the source from there and
nothing happens. Pretty so a box comes up that tells me that a .net file or
config was missing. Ahh! i check the deatails button, there is a detail
bution at the bottom, yet nothing comes up. Just a window with no text. Than
there is a button on the error box that says "continue". i do that and it
dissapears for ~1 sec than comes back. I'm so frusrtated that i just try to
use the internet to check my email and the start menu frezes and stayes
therre. ~30 sec. later it lets me do stuff again and i get onto IE. oh ya it
also starts and loggs on very slow and has a blacvk sreen that randomly
appears and dissapears.

help please, i payed 200$ for useless software.

Doesn't this ring an alarm bell about malware?
