Windows XP SP2/WMP

Received a paperback from J. Ballew.(Thanks J.),having problems
with Windows XP SP2& WMP 11. Could it just be as simple as
using WMP 10 with Windows XP? I'm new at this so don't laugh
too much! Thank You, RobertyBob.
