Windows XP SP2 - Network Issue

J

John

Installed a new computer on my home network. System is
Windows XP Pro SP2. I am getting the following error.
Tried uninstalling SP2 and disabled the firewall. Same
issue.

workgroup is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact administrator of
this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The list of servers for this work group is not currently
available.

Any fixes? Patches? Workarounds would be help full.
Thanks.

Make sure that the Computer Browser service is running. If the Internet
Connection Sharing and Firewall service is disabled, set to Automatic
and start it. If the Security Center service is disabled, set it to
Automatic and start it; same with TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service, and set
Netbios over TCP/IP in the connection properties. In the system control
panel, make sure the workgroup name is correct.
