Windows XP SP2 install problems

I get the message "unable to read or write to database" then "install failed"
messages. Ive followed the steps to resolve on the XP SP2 troubleshooting
page with no resolution.

I searched the entire Hard Drive and deleted all the files listed. Still no
luck. What else can I do.

Frustrated.
