Windows XP - Slow Startup

Can anyone tell me wht XP is so slow starting up. I've
used bootvis to see if this helps, it helped for a while
but XP has now gone very slow.

I have even put a fixed IP on my machine but this still
dosent seem to do anything.

I have NAV 2004 installed but whenever XP starts there is
always a red cross through it.

It takes about 5 minutes for it to start.

Anyone have any ideas on how to speed it up.

My System:-

P4 2.4GHZ
720MB RAM
120GB Hard Disk
Windows XP Pro
