Windows XP Service pack 2

Can anyone help me out..
i was on XP Home edition and just received an upgrade from microsoft which
upgraded my computer to XP SP2. when i shut down my computer, i restarted it
but i have no desktop appearing.
Does anyone know a solution please

You might try uninstalling SP2 & install SP1. SP2 is conflicting w/ some
software & is quirky...........Go to MS Knowledge site for guidance in
installing SP1.
