Windows XP Question

I am using Windows XP Professional and I have Office 2000 Professional
installed. It was installed when I bought the computer...
I keep getting a message to "Please wait while windows configures Microsoft
Office 2000 Professonal".....Then it says to insert disk...I did not get a
disk for Office when I received my computer......I do not know why it wants
to configure Microsoft Office....It is working fine.....My computer won't
allow me to install anything else..It says complete install that is in
progress..

HELP....Any ideas on what to do...? How can I get rid of the installing
message without removing my Office 2000 software or where can I get disk?

Thank

Most times Office installs do not install 100% of the available content
for Office. Whenever a call is made to a function/tool or utility that is
not installed Office will call for the installer to add that content. Once
invoked it's nearly impossible to stop. Later versions of Office create
an MSOCache folder to provide local installation without the original
install disk.
Unfortunately in your situation only a Office CD will satisfy the installer
running to add/remove Office components.

The OEM that installed the Office 200 product was supposed to give you a
method to re-install it if something went wrong. Unfortunately for you,
that method could have been a complete system wipe/install....

You need to contact the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) that
sold/built the computer in question and ask them about obtaining
installation media. However - be warned that with a product as old as
Office 2000 - they may not have said disks available. You may have to do an
eBay purchase.

This isn't actually a Windows XP question, it's an Office question. The
solution is simple; you get the Office CD and put it in so that the
install/configuration can complete.

You should have received an Office install CD with the system if it has a
legitimate license. You should consult the vendor.

Go back and ask the seller; they must give you a way to put things right.
IF you didn't buy Office with the computer, then uninstall it, and go get a
copy of your own.
