windows xp professional x64 edition boot on AMD 3400 64 bit syst

I have a tiny AMD Athlon 64 bit pc with windows professional installed on
it. I have just purchased windows xp professional x64 edition and you have
to boot it from the Drive. But no matter how I try the computer
will not read it . Can anyone help me please?

have you enabled booting from the cd drive in the bios.
