Windows XP Problems

I installed Internet explorer 7 and since then my computer does not work
properly at all, it wont let me click on a command. it flashes across the
screen, unable to place my cursor on any command to click it. The screen also
moves from left to right. When I move it back, it moves across again from
left to right. It takes an age to go from one command to the next Can I
uninstall XP and re-install it again to make this problem go away ? How do I
uninstall XP ? Do I need to put the XP disc in the computer ? Any assistance
would be appreciated.

Are you running WinXP SP2 or WinXP SP3?

Were you having the same problems in IE6 (i.e., before you installed IE7)?

You do mean IE7, right, and not IE8?

I have a computer problem. The XP is not starting anymore.
Do someone know where I can get the win xp cd/dvd? Is it downloadable? I
lost the CD and my computer needs to be reinstalled. I have still the
activation code sticking on my computer though.
Thanks

Dann

You may have a horked (dirty; bad; flawed) install of IE7. I suggest that
you...

1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) EXACTLY per
http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html [Only use the Command
%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe if you cannot uninstall via Add/Remove
Programs! Ignore any "such and such may not work if..." prompts. Ignore
any references to Vista on the page.]

2a. Uninstall all toolbars and third-party Windows Themes (including Window
Blinds).

2b. Disable all Norton Add-ons, if applicable.

3. Reinstall IE7 EXACTLY per
http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install <= Steps #1-8, #10 &
#11; take note of #12, then STOP!

IE7 will not be offered via Windows Update. You can download the installer
here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9ae91ebe-3385-447c-8a30-081805b2f90b

Save the installer to your desktop, do not Run it. Then double-click on the
saved file when you're ready to install IE7.

4. IMMEDIATELY go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install any
critical updates offered. If a "Root Certificates" update is listed in the
Optional category, install it to take full advantage of IE7's additional
security.

In the future, please start a new post instead of posting your issue in
an already existing thread.

If you do not have the CD that came with the computer, you will need to
call the manufacturer of your computer and purchase a replacement XP
restore CD from them.
