Windows XP Pro. What Vista version is comparable?

I run Windows XP Pro w/SP2 here and am planning on running Vista. My
question is, what version of Vista is going to be comparable to the Windows
XP Pro that I am running now? I saw the list of different versions of
Vista, something like 7 different flavors I believe, and it's confusing me.
Can anyone help? Thanks.

Windows Vista Business Edition is probably close in my opinion. Go for the
Ultimate Edition though if you can afford it as it is the "no compromise"
version.

I suspect the following upgrade paths will be Vista Business, Enterprise and
Ultimate Edition since XP Professional share the same common core
architecture with Microsofts previous generation Business operating systems.

My specs are P4 3.4Ghz, 1GB RAM, BFGTech Nvidia 6800 Ultra OC, SATA on the
MOBO, SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, and the usual optical drives.

There are no upgrades that you need to do unless none of your optical drives
are DVD.

Good news then. My one optical is a CD-R, and the other a DVD-R which is a
Sony that does both + and -, but I suppose thy all do both formats lately.

The Business version, especially for a laptop or business computer. It has
the networking / remote etc. capabilities that enable laptops and
businesses. Both Home versions lack these features.

Then you're all set. My mother's computer also has a Sony DVD burner. It's
a DVD-RW burner. It's the older generation where it's maximum burn speed is
4x. (Bought in in December of 2004.) Nowadays, most of them are 16x.
