Windows XP Pro Welcome screen

When I first bought my computer the welcome screen would come up with every
start and also after the computer went ito stand by mode. Now when I start
up my computer it skips the welcome screen and goes straight to my user
account. I have made sure that in the user account link, I have the welcome
screen on, but I still am unable to get it to work again. What should I try
next?

Start - run the line
control userpasswords2

Make sure that 'Users must give a username and password' is checked,
click Apply

This happens if the automatic logon is set, or if you have only one user account with a blank password. Try these steps to prevent the automatic logon.

Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK. In the dialog box that appears, enable Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer check box, and then click OK.

Also, assign a password for your user account.
