hi everyone..
i have an issue..

firstly, i have a problem accessing some website which gave me problems like
"run time error occured" do you wanna debug it and your security does not
allow you to use ActiveX.

im using Windows XP Pro SP 2 V.2055 on my laptop.

secondly, i noticed that there are some difference between the Windows XP
SP2 im using on my laptop and the one on my desktop computer. the desktop
computer runs on Windows XP Pro SP2 V.2135. there is a security icon in
control panel for the V.2135 and some other differences. May i know what are
the differences?i personally prefer the V.2135 as i feel that it runs
smoother and better compared with my XP V.2055. can i actually change with
any upgrades ?

I am not sure what versions of SP2 you're running. The final RTM
version is this: version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158:
Service Pack 2). From Start | Run type in winver. click ok. That shows
the version. If you have something different then it is one of the RC
versions.

You have a beta release, not the final RTM (Release to Manufacturing).
Depending on which version you have, you can install the final release
over the top if the version you have is one of the last two release
candidates. If you can't install it, then you have one of the earlier
beta versions which can't be upgraded. In that case all you can do is a
fresh install.

You have one of the Beta versions of SP-2 not the RTM (Release to
Manufacturing).

Reboot
Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall SP-2
Double click "Service Pack 2" and follow prompts to uninstall.
Reboot.

there is no SP 2 for me to remove in the "remove program" area...i think
the vendor installed an entire beta Windows Xp Pro SP2 for me..do u think is
possible?
coz i bought a laptop not long ago which was using "Home edition" (it was
good). Home Ediditon dosnt support IIS, so i have to reformat my laptop and
change it to XP Pro as it supports IIS..

so..what are the alternatives i can take beside changing the OS to a full
version?is kinda frustrating to change from one OS to another as reinstalling
applications does take hell lot of time which i dont have...any
suggestions?hope to hear from you ASAP.thanks alot.

First verify you have a legitimate license of Windows XP:

SP-2 Beta may have been slipstreamed, in that case there is no
uninstall option.
Try installing SP-2 per the checklist on my other post.
