Windows XP Pro setup error

I am trying to install windows xp on a new computer.
Before installation begins I am getting an error message
saying:
"An unexpected error (301992501) occured at line 1768 in
d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c"

Help! I am very desperate and at a dead end.

This may be a defective RAM problem. If you have multiple ram modules, try pulling
each and retrying.
