Windows XP Pro Product Key

When reloading Windows XP Professional on my home
machine, the product key that I used to load it the first
time, no longer works. I had a problem with my hard
drive and reformatted it, now when reloading the
software, it doesn't want to work. Any ideas? Does the
product key expire after so many uses?

The product key does not expire, either you are mistyping it, the CD is
damaged or you have a pirated copy of XP.

Explain no longer works, what are the symptoms, what happens, any error
messages, are you absolutely sure you have properly typed the CD key as this
is the most common reason why a key is rejected.
