Windows XP pop up window for reading SD memory card

I use to get a pop up window when I plugged in an SD memory card with pictures, where windows xp identified the file as a picture file. It would ask me if I wanted to copy them, email them, etc, in a step by step fashion. It would allow me to rename the pictures from a generic Pentax numbering to ie June 2004 pic 1. My wife's computer does it, mine will not. I go through a San disc reader, hers directly via usb from the camera. Can anybody help me to set up this windows default for picture plug ins?

I guess the first thing I'd check is the properties/auto play options.
Double click "my computer" and then RIGHT click on the driver letter that is
your card reader. A options menu will drop down and the last option is
"properties" click on that and find the AUTO PLAY tab. See what options are
shown and change any that are not set for auto play.
