Windows XP Personal Firewall

Craig

Hi,

I know how to enable Personal Firewall for LAN
connections on XP and to setup rules defining particular
ports to enable etc.
What I need to know is if anyone is aware of whether it
is possible to rather enable all ports (TCP and UDP) for
only Particular ranges of incming TCP Address Subnets ,
as this is an eaiser way to "Lock down" the connection by
only trusting certain incoming networks on the local
machine.

Can this be done on Windows XP Pro (SP1)... and using
Policies...?????

Currently Internet Connection Firewall does not provide for this
functionality although Service Pack 2 may do what you want. Check out
"Local Subnet Restriction" in the document "Deploying Internet Connection
Firewall Settings for Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2" at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...e1-61fa-447a-bdcd-499f73a637d1&DisplayLang=en).
