Windows XP Navigation Bars available?

Not sure if this is the correct forum or not, but is there some way to add
horizontal and vertical 'navigation bars' to Windows XP to help navigate text
and documents? Some other applications have this feature that can be enabled
and it creates like a 'cross hairs' thing that can be moved around to help
navigate across the screen. It would be great if we could enable that for
the Windows OS. TIA for any help on this one.

p.s. I believe some other applications call it a 'rule line' or 'navigation
line.'

Hey, I doubt that I can answer your question but I think it would be useful
for you to post a "screen shot" of another application that has the feature
that you're trying to describe. From your description, I am unclear as to
what you're looking for.

You should be able to do a screen capture by doing <ALT>+<PrtSc> (the print
screen button). This is saved to the clipboard. Then you can paste it into
a program like Windows Paint or a photo editing program like Photoshop.
From there you should be able to save the image as a .JPG or .BMP file and
include it as an attachment to a post you make here.

You could also just give an example of a particular program that has the
feature you want.

Hope this brings you closer...
