Windows XP native PPTP VPN client

I have the following problem and hopes someone out there might be able to
help me.

The situation is as follows:
User1 on our network recently got a new PC.
The PC was added to your domain, and User1 logged into the PC to transfer
his roaming profile to this new PC. The diffrences between his new PC and
the old one is almost purely hardware based, only software diffrence that
I'm aware of is that his old PC had Office2003 while the new one has
Office2007. After the PC was connected to the domain and the profile had
been transfered, the Domain\User1 user was added to the local administrators
group. (all our users are local administrators on their normal PC)

Everything works fine, except his VPN connections. These are native Windows
PPTP VPN connections, no fancy software here, just pure windows. His old VPN
connections was tranfered to his new PC, I presume through the roaming
profile, but show up as locked. The icon for the VPN connection has a little
pad-lock in one of the corners, I forgot which corner. If we try and start
the connection, nothing happens. If we rightclick it and select
"Properties", nothing happens. If we mark the connection and press delete,
nothing happens. If we make a new VPN connection it instantly, upon
completion of the wizard, goes into the same state as the other VPN
connections.

Anyone has any idea why this is happening? I need to fix it, since this user
is kinda dependant upon his ability to make VPN connections.

P.S. Sorry for spelling mistakes and bad grammer, English is not my native
language.
