Windows XP Messenger 4.7 Video/Voice Problem

My brother and I both have Windows Messenger 4.7 (2009) and I have a Linksys
WRT54G router and he has a Linksys BEFW11S4. We both have UPNP services
enabled on our routers. So far we haven't been able to do any video or
voice conferencing. We keep getting messages that the computer was unable
to connect with the other client. Chat is the only method.

Does anyone know the steps we can take to get this to work?

My brother and I both have Windows Messenger 6.1. We had
also problems with the transmission of voicedata. We are
using SMC Routers with UPnP and firewall enabled. There
was no transmission of voicedata because of a
softwarefirewall on my PC. Only stopping the firewall was
not of use. I had to uninstall it, hoping that the
routerfirewall will suffice for security.
