bought a Windows XP upgrade disk from a friend and it
installs ok, but has this dumb key on it that starts out
with "XXXXX-640-blah-blah-blah" Whats the matter with it,
is the installer or the software no good ?????? I paid
good money for this crappe and get this and it cleaned out
all my email and Kazaa.
Next MS mess, how come Outlook 2003 (has almost the same
bozo key number) does not send my messages to the forums
and I have to use this way ? Is it not working too ? Like
do they check any of these programs before they sell
them ?? I paid almost $100 USD for this Office 2003
Professional and Windows XP Professional and both are
messng up. Most of my games dont work no more and the
thing is slow as shite on a stick, what bozos write this ?
Or did I do something wrong on install ? Where did my mail
go and howcome its still the old crappie Internet 6, where
is Internet 7 ? how ca I get this junk off my harddisk ? I
tryed to uninstall the stupid things and now it wants my
Windows XP disk in the drive and I sold it right after I
got it installed. what about AVG ??????I finally got that
toad working and now it is not even there and I cant get
it working neither. can somebody tell me what to do to fix
this wreak before I go nuts or slam Microturd with spam !

Sounds like you have a large amount of old games, that would run in DOS or
that were specifically writen. You need an emulator for running MS-DOS
games. And for the rest, activate compability mode. Right klick the game's
shortcut, select properties, go to compability tab, and select to run in
Windows 98/Me mode. If this does not work, check for and download a patch
from the producers web site.

Sounds like you formatted the hard-drive while installing the system... By
the way, Internet Explorer 7 does not exist. You are sure you are not
meaning Netscape 7?

Since you "sold it right after I got it installed", you no longer have a
legitimate license to use your version of Windows XP. What you
need to do is go out and purchase new versions of both Windows
XP and Microsoft Office 2003 and perform a "clean install".

Most of your problems are probably not Microsoft's fault as you
suggest.
The cause is most likely bad preparation as well as incompatible
hardware and software.

You are probably better off starting over with a Clean Installation:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/cleanxp.htm
Pay particular attention to step one to verify the computer is ready
for windows XP.

How can you sell Windows XP if you installed it?
As you discovered, you still need it.
Read the EULA you agreed to when you installed Windows XP.

Also make sure your installed copy of windows XP is legal (probably
not since you said you sold it.)

Did you ever hear of a word "chutzpah"?

Might I suggest you look in to linux, drdos,
or other OS's that are free for the downloading

to paraphase "gripe, they're idiots, gripe, gripe"
