windows xp installed in TEMP directory

I have a Win ME/Win XP dual boot system where Win XP got corrupted. I
booted into Win ME and deleted all the files from the WIN_XP directory on
it's partition and reinstalled it. Instead of putting the files where I
told it to put them, it put them in TEMP. My Windows XP now boots from the
TEMP directory and has all of the system files there. I think what caused
it is that I did not edit boot.ini and remove the existing entry for Windows
XP before I did the reinstall. I looked in the registry using regedit and a
LOT of the paths now have TEMP as the root directory. Is there any easy way
to fix this other than starting all over again with deleting the files and
removing the existing entry from boot.ini before I reinstall?

TIA,

John

You have to reinstall Windows to another folder.
