Windows XP Home with strange problem

Hi - I have a simple 3 node windows xp network through a router. Everything
works except for one node. This one node can see the other two nodes and
they can see it. Each node can login to each other. Two nodes can browse
the internet, but one node can't. I've tried running the network setup
wizard and re-installing the network adapter drivers with no success. The
node in question is an emachines T1096 (Windows XP Home) with a Realtek 8039
pci network adapter. I must maunally set the ip address (192.168.0.25),
sub-mask (255.255.255.0) and default gateway address (192.168.0.1) for it
to see the other machines. If I have Obtain IP address automatically set
the IP address is always set to 169.254.0.2!
Thank you in advance Rick

I found the problem. It was a hijack of the ip address by McAfee's Firewall
software. Problem fixed. - Rick
