Windows XP Home edition-Can it use 4gb or only see 3gb???

Appreciate the replies on this subject. I have Windows XP Home edition
(I can load Pro if needed).
I have 1gb of ram and am adding another 2gb.

1. I have read conflicting posts on whether Windows XP Home can see
more than 2gb, or 3gb or can see all 4gb (if you install 4gb).

Thanks for help on this. My MSI975X motherboard can handle up to 8gb of
memory but perhaps you need XP Server running.

Secondly---Since I have 4 slots of memory, I assume that Dual Channel
is not initiated perhaps if you use all 4 slots of memory. I currently
have 2 sticks of memory in the machine and it is using the memory as
Dual Channel (DDR2 533mhz). When I add the other 2 sticks (which will
be 667mhz by choice temporarily), what will happen? I assume you cannot
get Dual channel with mixed memory speeds. But I am a noob when it
comes to this.

Thanks so much in advance
Patty

I was told 32 can only see 3 Gb. That is what I see on my computer but
I have 4 Gb. If you switch to 64 you will see 4 Gb

It has a 4GB address space. That must be used to access RAM, video
memory, and other things on your PCI and PCI Express cards. See
