Windows xp home boot fails second time

Hi,

I'm having a problem starting up my computer (win xp home). When I
start the computer, the system hangs at the windows xp logo screen.
Next time I start the pc, I get the ability to start in safe mode.
After starting windows in safe mode, I can start windows normally.
The next time it fails again.

It seems to me that there is a problem in closing windows after it is
loaded correctly, but I can't imagine what the problem is.

Does anyone knows the reason of this problem? Or even better, a
solution.

Thanks in advance,

Gert

It's almost certainly a problem with a device driver, (or a broken device) I would start the bootlog and see what causes the safe
mode boot.
Press f8 on restart for the safe mode menu, and choose the bootlog option.

(from the help) boot log:
Starts while logging all the drivers and services that were loaded (or not loaded) by the system to a file. This file is called
ntbtlog.txt and it is located in the %windir% directory. Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with Command Prompt add
to the boot log a list of all the drivers and services that are loaded. The boot log is useful in determining the exact cause of
system startup problems.

Another tool is the Event Viewer (start/run, type: eventvwr.msc) You will see a list of errors that happen before the restart.
