Can I safely convert my existing hard drives/partitions from FAT32 to NTFS
without losing data. I upgraded to XP from ME - ergo file system is still
FAT32
Go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:CONVERT C: /FS:ntfs Agree,type:EXIT
Restart computer.It's a simple proceedure,its one way,cannot go back to FAT32
w/o a format.Once thru,run diskclean up,defrag the hd,reopen cmd,type:
CHKDSK C: /F Agree,type:EXIT Restart computer.

To convert to NTFS, you use the CONVERT command. But first read http://www.aumha.org/a/ntfscvt.htm because there's an issue regarding
cluster size that isn't obvious.
Also note that conversion is a big step, affecting everything on your drive.
When you take such a big step, no matter how unlikely, it is always possible
that something could go wrong. For that reason, it's prudent to make sure
you have a backup of anything you can't afford to lose before beginning.
But he has improved - they are almost full sentences.
