windows xp driver for epson photopc 750z

I have an epson photopc 750z that works off a com1 via a
serial connection on windows 98 platform. It stopped
working when I bought a new computer running windows xp.
Epson provided drivers for windows 2000 and said that
they should work with windows xp as well. But I have
tried all their fixes to no avail.

Does anyone know if there is such a fix for this problem?

Serial connections in new computers are flaky at best because the machines
are so fast and serial is soooooo slow. For any serial digital camera
device, I recommend not connecting the camera to your computer and purchase
a card reader (these are cheap). Use the card reader to view and manipulate
your photos: It'll be much much faster and more reliable.

good luck!
