Windows XP Desktop Corrupted

S

Shawn

I recently installed Norton Internet Security on my
Windows XP box. I was configuring rules, when I got an
application error in the Juno mail client. After getting
this error (I don't recall off the top of my head what
the error was), my xp desktop displayed differently.

It used to display with a background image and a few
icons on it. Now it displays as an all white background
with a vertical blue bar on the left side of the screen.
The View is very similar to the one when browsing folders
in xp.

I can see the background I've selected when logging a
user off.

My question is, how do I restore my desktop to it's
former view?

Shawn,

Does the desktop has common tasks view?

If so, download the fix from Doug Knox site:

Ramesh,
That didn't solve the problem. I downloaded the app, and
it said the key was correct.
My desktop (and the desktops of all users on the box) has
the following links in the blue vertical bar...
"File and Folder Tasks"
"Other Places"
"Details"

Any other thoughts?

That didn't fix the problem either.
