Windows XP Compressed Files

In order to make backups a little easier I compressed about 30
individual directories into zip files. Now when I try to extract these
zip files back to their original directories I am now being asked to
supply a password. I never supplied a password in the beginning when I
compressed the directories. Why would I be asked to supply one now?
This is only happening to a couple of the files the rest are opening
fine.

The steps that I followed to zip the files were right click on the
folder and the send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. I then deleted the
original directory.

I am logged in as the same user as when the zip files were created. I
have not changed the password for that user. The directories that were
zipped were not encrypted.

Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to get the files back?

Thanks for any help you can provide,
Steve

I was able to get the zip files uncompressed after all. I moved the
files to a folder in the root of C and uncompressed them from there. I
then moved the uncompressed files back the original location. Who
knows what happened.

sounds like "ownership" issues ...glad you got it sorted out :>

I think it had more to do with the file path length but I had no error
to indicate that except that the unzip worked once the files were
sitting at the root.

could be ...but that generally will give a specific error message/number

whatever works! :>
