Windows XP can't see network at all

Richard

I have a 2 PC network, XP Professional and 2000
Professional. The XP Pro shares internet through ICS, and
the 2k Pro can access the internet fine.
Ping work great too, I had to manually set the IP address
of the 2k machine though.

The problem is tho, both PCs are in the same workgroup,
but the XP machine does not see any computers in the
workgroup, none, not even itself. The 2k machine sees
itself just fine.

Is there something I need to undo that I did when I was
tinkering?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to add that NetBIOS is enabled on both, and
Computer Browser running on the XP machine. Also, the
firewall is not enabled.

Also wanted to add that no error comes up when trying to
browse the network. All I see is the Workgroup name, and
when I click on it, nothing. Thats all.

Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Same problem here - have a older PC which has been running
Win2K perfectly fine on a workgroup with printer and
folder sharing and also use my Win2K laptop at home to
connect with this workgroup

Now have got a new PC with WinXP Pro installed and even
though I set the workgroup to be same, no joy and no
connection. Have gone thru the recommended process of
Network Setup Wizrd, disk etc.
