Windows XP Boot Problem

Steve

I just want to start off by saying that I just formatted
both of my hard disks with NTFS and also performed a CMOS
reset to prepare myself for the Windows XP install
process. I insert in the Windows XP Home SP1 disk (not an
upgrade disk) and it says "Searching for required
components..." or something similar. After this, a blue
screen appears and it is my Windows XP setup screen. The
only problem is, where the grey status bar appears on the
bottom of the screen to keep you posted on how far along
your install setup process is, nothing appears. It will
not go any farther than this. It will stay at this blue
screen and not gain any progress. I have tried multiple CD-
ROM drives and have had the same result regardless.
However, Windows 2000 will install completely without any
problems or issues. So I am completely at a loss for what
to do.

I need to get XP running on my system ASAP for work
purposes, so if anyone could give me instructions on what
to do, I would be forever appreciative.

Thanks!

Well, I believe SP1 is *just* the service pack (someone can correct me if I
am mistaken) -- which means you gotta have XP already on the machine.
