Windows wants to dial up a naughty address when I log on

Hi, and thanks in advance for any info.
Recently my PC asks to connect to the internet when I
start up, the address it wants to go to is a site which I
dont want to visit and indeed would not want any children
to. I have no idea how this happened, I have not visited
any sites of this nature and feel very aggrieved that I
have no way that I can see to disable this request.
Can anybody tell me where to look to disable this program
that is requesting this connection.
I assume that it has come from an email, i get an
inordinate amount of Spam which I struggle to control as I
have a very slow connection due to working here in Saudi
Arabia.
Any suggections would be most welcome
Regards

Try running 'Ad-Aware' or 'SpyBot', these are free for personal use and will
more than likely get rid of the offending files on your computer.

Thanks for the info guys
Unfortunately I installed and ran Norton, Adaware and
spybot, none of them solved the problem, windows still
trys to dial up the site.

Any more suggestions ?

Thanks again

When you ran Adaware and Spybot, did you have the most up-to-date version,
as well as the newest signature files? I don't see why this wouldn't find
the problem. You may want to look in the 'Add/Remove Programs' section in
the Control Panel for any apps you don't recognize; it's possible an
application was installed without your knowledge. Also, check your Startup
folder for all of the profiles on your computer to see if anything was put
there. Other than that, I'm tapped out.

Thanks for the reply AndyH

Tried those suggestions and still no joy, I have disabled
auto dial up now though so that stops the program trying
to dial up.
Still not the best solution, and may even consider a
complete format if I get a free day.
From now on I will be a little more carefull with email.

Thanks again for your replies.
