Windows Vista & Everquest Crashing

EQ crashes while logging in, sometimes. It crashes when zoning, most of the
time. It acts as if the computer is going too fast for the game. Anyone
have this problem and know how to fix it?

I am having the exact same problem, I upgraded and bought a HP and a GeForce
7900 graphics card, and 2 gigs of memory. I never had a problem when I was
running it on my laptop, but I can't barely play at all on the HP now. I can
only play for about 20 minutes and then it goes into hyper mode where my
character moves at warp speed but the other characters cannot move their arms
or legs and they just twitch. And I will get kicked out if I try to zone
anywhere and then it takes over half an hour to get back in because it thinks
I still have a character logged in. I have tried new drivers, more memory, I
hve turned all the power savings modes off, I run as admin, windows firewall
is off, and I have set to run as xp. NOTHING works, I am glad I am not the
only one who has this problem though. I will let you know if I find a
solution though.

Not a problem :) Now I'm busy solving other issues with Vista. Two down, a
few million to go. Good luck.

Says error 1271 something about some file missing! Help I thought I
finally found a way to fix vista and EQ

Here's the link to the AMD utilities for X2 Dual Core Processors:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html

Second file (as of 11/5) is the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer. Direct link is...

good luck.
