Windows Vista just crashed. Here are the details of the crash. It happened
after trying to open the Media Center:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BLUESCREEN
OS Version: 6.0.5384.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 1000008e
BCP1: C0000005
BCP2: 8825D84B
BCP3: A0523868
BCP4: 00000000
OS Version: 6_0_5384
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini061106-04.dmp
C:\Windows\Temp\WER-58390-0.sysdata.xml

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi David,

0x8E is usually related to a device driver. As Colin has noted, you should
file a bug report and upload the dump file as part of it (this one here:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini061106-04.dmp). Unfortunately, without the .dmp
itself or at least knowing the module involved, it is impossible to tell you
which one it might be.

I have since updated the display driver for my NVIDIA GeForce 5200. But I
still have the same problem. I filed a report with the method described in
the desktop icon "Feedback"...I downloaded the program, ran it, and filed the
report. If someone knows what to do with the .dmp file, I can send it by a
method that you can access.

The first time I tried Media Center, I got the BSOD. However, it only
happened the one time, and Media Center has worked fine since. My T.V. tuner
card is not recognized though. I might have installed some device drivers
before I tried it again, but still, it only crashed on me the one time.

You can send it to me at the email address used here, I'll take a look at
it. Use a subject line of "per req" to get past the filters. Note that I
cannot fix the driver for you, but I may be able to at least tell you which
one it is.

Hi,

Don't attach the file here as it will likely be too large and be stripped,
send it to me via email using a subject line of 'per req'.

I've never used the nickname Dick as do others with my name.
