Windows Upgrade

Is it possible to upgrade a system from Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
to Windows XP Professional Edition? I have a client with MCE and needs to go
to XP Pro in order to join a Microsoft Domain.

My initial guess is a version upgrade will not work and a reformat of the
system drive and full version installation is the only way that will work.

I appreciate any feedback on this post.

One cannot "upgrade" MCE to Windows XP Pro...a "clean install" using
a genuine "full version" of Windows XP Pro is required.
