Windows Updates

Using Win XP Pro SP2. I have just installed a new hard drive and completed a
new install of the operating system. After applying SP2 (which I
have on a CD) I then checked for updates on Microsoft's site and installed
them.



Q1. There were many Windows updates and I was wondering where the
downloaded files are kept on my computer prior to installing them?



I feel that if I could have saved them to a disk then I need not go through
this
huge download process again in the near future.



Q2. How can I download these files direct from Microsoft's download site in

order that I can copy to a CD?

Go to the Windows Update Catalogue - which is a database of files of all the
updates that you can download and manually install/save on a CD. On my
system, I have it listed under All Programs > at the top of the menu, along
with "microsoft update" and "windows update".
