Windows updates error #80070008B

Just installed Windows Vista Home Premium. Had to register the key by
calling Microsoft. My problem is that I cannot get any updates to install.
All of the updates from the very first update has failed. I have tried
downloading them myself but they still fail. I know that there was a way to
reset windows updates in windows XP but is there a way to reset windows
updates in Vista? All help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried opening services.msc and halting the automatic update service &
emptying the folder but updates still won't work. I've tried it several
times....

:
check that the readyboost service is enabled. u can check it by
clicking start, type "services.msc" ENTER. the service is listed simply
as "Readyboost". make sure its on automatic and on.
