Windows Updates Causes Email Attachment Problems

I DLed the most recent Windows XP updates after receiving a "critical" DL
message in my start up bar. However, now, every time I try to save an email
attachment I receive via MS Outlook, the system hangs when I try to save the
file (Save As) in a directory. It happens when I open the file in Word and
then try to save it too.

When I do a system restore to a date prior to the recent Windows Updates,
the function works fine (as it did BEFORE the Windows updates), but I have
the critical updates message (uellow shield with exclamation point) in the
start up bar again.

Any ideas on how to solve the problem? It appears that one of the updates
maybe causing the problem...

I think (hope!) I discovered the problem and a solution on the MS Blog at
http://blogs.technet.com/msrc/archive/2006/04/21/425838.aspx.

Looks like I'm not going crazy - there is a bug that will be fixed by the
25th. In the meantime, I'm going to do a system restore to a previous date
so I don't have to worry about the problem. I'm not really interested in
mucking around in the registry and manually fixing the problem.

Hope this helps others...
