Windows Update

My PC to set to automatically Download Windows Updates. I have now gotten
the SAME Update 5 or 6 times (each time I proceed to let the update Install).
The update 1st appeared Yesterday 11/12....... The Update is "Security
Update for Microsoft XLM Core Services 4.0, Service Pack 2 (KB936181)."

Is there a known problem for this Update? How do I stop it from
re-occurring? After I complete an Install the Download Ready Sheild does go
away....but it comes back within 5 to 10 mins (and its showing right now in
my Taskbar)

The current Fix to stop getting the KB936181 Update from re-appearing as of
now seems a little involved and more complex then what the every day PC user
should attempt. Is Microsoft going to come out with a fix/an automated Fix?

The problem I have described ......continually receiving the "Updates ready
to Install"....and the Update is always KB936181......is a problem many users
are encountering. I appreciate what you have provided but given this is a
problem that is being encountered by many users, hasn't Microsoft come up
with a Fix....something an lower level PC user can follow to correct the
problem?

And have you opened a free support incident request yet?

Have you considered reviewing similar threads in Windows Update newsgroup to
see if someone's posted a fix for your problem? ...and if you can't find
anything, have you considered posting about this problem in that newsgroup?

Free Incident report with MicroSoft? I didn't know they provided any FREE
help. How would I do that?

I did post in Windows Update...responses I got did not correct the problem.
I did go out to Windows Update, checked History of Installed Updates.
KB936181 shows installed sucessfully 5 times.......(I am sure I have clicked
on the Update Notification sheild at least that many times)....but when I
checked ADD/DELETE with showing updates checked....I don't see KB936181 in
the list.

One effective way to solve your problem. Turn off auto update. Go to Windows
update (manual update) click on update and when 936181 appears, scroll down
and select 'do not show this again'.
