Windows Update Setup

Diane

After installing Windows XP home edition, I get the
following after starting my computer:

Windows Update Setup
A previous installation has pending work requiring a
reboot. You need to restart your computer to complete
that installation before running Internet Explorer
Setup. Setup will now close.

I select OK and continue using my computer, but the next
time I turn it on, I get that message again.

Thanks,
Diane

Hi

Start/Run --> regedit.exe

If the RebootRequired key listed below exists in registry, delete
the key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RebootRequired
