Windows XP Windows update has a new twist

I managed to get the error code when "Update" failed to work. (please refer to previous thread of yesterday concerning Windows update problems). When I try to update my XP after a reinstall to acquire SP-3 I get this code: 0x80244019. Maybe someone might know the code or where I can research it. Thanks Jimmy

You maybe better downloading from a third party. Don't rely on support from MS anymore

Go to THIS link , scroll to the bottom of the page and run the Fixit and see if you have any luck after that.

thanks a bunch - It seems like a good web site to go to. I'm gonna print up the cause/resolution text first to see if I can fix-it then use the "fix-it" program to see if it can do the job. Does the "fix-it" program cost?

Nope, "fix-it" is always free.

You could always download the SP3 manually then you will always have a copy to hand. It may help you out.
