Windows Update -- Admin Only

Someone please help....

I have a Windows XP Home machine that's driving me up a
wall. It's not attached to a network, just a friend's
home PC with a cable modem. It was infected with the
Backdoor.IRC.Cirebot virus, which has been cleaned. I try
& do a Windows Update on it, and it says that I need to be
an Administrator to do this. All of the accounts (three)
on this system are admin accounts. I've been here

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

and tried what MS suggests, nothing helps. Any ideas?

Hello,

Don't think I can help, as I seem to be having a very
similar problem, although I wasn't aware of the virus
that effected you..could have done me to?

Have you tried double clicking on your clock (bottom
right on taskbar)? I can't change the time anymore!
Also stops me from updating too.

Hope someone can help us..
