"Windows\system32" folder opens on startup

When I start my XP Professional system the
windows\system32 folder opens automatically. It's not
being invoked directly from the Startup menu. This
behavior is irritating. Anyone know what causes it and
how to turn it off?

I've been having this problem as well, and I checked all
my registry keys for the null entries specified at
http://tinyurl.com/m641, but I have no such entries, so
I'm totally baffled at what's going on. I do have one ""
entry in the registry but in a wholly different area
(something about printers and MSOffice). But this was
happening before I installed office, but after I got the
PC. I suspect one of the Windows Updates did something
but I have no idea which one. In my add/remove programs
I have a number of Hotfixes listed (about 8 or so), but I
dunno if I remove one it'll make the rest of windows
unstable. HELP!! Thanks!
