can anyone out there tell me how to clear that. i had a
dell. the mb fried. i had a place build me a new one
using some of the existing components. they pulled my hd
out and put it in. the mb is from msi its a ms-7005 micro
atx that takes my p4 processor. they set it up with
hyperthreading. i cant use it with the games i play cause
it splits the p4 size into 2 1.3mghz. so i turned it off
in bios rebooted and went to system info and it still
shows it as being split and running 1300 mghz on each
one. now the device manager shows it only 1 time like it
is supposed to with ht turned off. but i uninstalled my
kotor game and reinstalled it and ran the check program
it comes with and it even shows it still split. i also
have msi's info view program and it shows it split as
well. how can i clear this up so everything shows it as
one p4 running at 2.6mghz like its supposed to be. please
anyone with any ideas let me know ive tried clearing
cmos, playing around with different stuff and no luck.
unfortunately i cant get microsoft to help cause my
reinstall disk came with the dell that fried and they say
dell has to help me. but i have an entirely different
computer now with my old hd in it. do i have to reinstall
windows from that disk again to clear all this mess up?
HHHHHHHEEEEEEELLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME, PLEASE

HyperThreading doesn't negatively impact games. You have
changed HALs (Hardware Abstraction Layer) when it wasn't
necessary. You should stop and read up on how things work
instead of taking extreme measures. Obviously, your BIOS
settings (FSB, Multiplier) are not correct. Turn the PC off &
spend an hour reading the Motherboard manual. Sorry to say
you've just taken a "Fixable" situation and made it 10-times
worse. To fix a PC you have to understand where the problem
is and resolve it. By "Shotgunning" it, you added more issues
on top of the one(s) you already had.
