Windows Startup Problem

R

Ray

My Windows 2000 Professional keeps rebooting just before
it goes to the login page, or hangs up during the start
process.

I have checked for virus' none detected using current NAV
Virus protection.

Kind of acts like the blaster worm, but I don't have it.

First, boot into safemode. Does that work? If it does, open up regedit and
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\CrashControl and set
the CrashDumpEnabled to 1

The reason for this is that more then likely you are getting a blue screen
and this will at least allow you to see which stop code it is.

If you can not go into safe mode, try last known good.
