Windows Starts after shutdown

After choosing shutdown in W2K and the system logs off. The
system starts up again. Does anyone know of a fix and where?

I had that problem when a Palm IIIC was connected to a PC
using a 9-pin cable. I moved it to a different port and
re-installed the most current Palm software; that fixed
the problem. I have not seen the problem on any PC's
since.
